An Apology is Offered
My name is Jonni Joyce and when Matt was
involved in this horrific traffic crash that almost took his life, I
organized this organization to help alleviate the financial burdens
that came from high medical bills and no medical insurance. I stood
in front of my peers at many seminars and offered the story of the
crash and Matt's recuperation. I also offered my word that every
cent of the money raised for the Matt Hook Medical Fund would go to
medical expenses only.
Bill Widener misrepresented himself at
this seminar and took the money raised at your auction and converted
it to his own use. That money, $400, was never turned over to the
Matt Hook Medical Fund. Because of his unethical and illegal
conduct, he received the following letter.
Let it be known that if you steal from a
disabled boy, Jonni Joyce will tell the truth about you. In doing
this, I hope Mr. Widener will never be able to hurt the volunteers
in search and rescue again.
