The
K9
Trainers
Workshop
So, you want to be a dog trainer! The K9 Trainers Workshop is the first step on the road to becoming enlightened in not only the techniques utilized to train working dogs, but also the reasons why these techniques and methodologies work.
In this three day course of instruction, students will be taught canine learning theory; How the dog learns from the dog's perspective. This allows the human to understand canine responses when the dog is actively learning a concept and apply the appropriate training methodology to nurture the learning curve of the canine. The student learns the step by step process for teaching behavior based on the individual dog's ability to learn. Some of this is breed specific, so many different breed evaluations are conducted during this workshop.
Why does the dog do what it is doing and what is the next step in my training process? If you understand what motivates the individual canine, how to reinforce behavior, when that learned behavior is reliable, and when to move on to the next step in the training process, and what that next step is, you will possess the basic foundation blocks needed to build a sturdy working dog.
This is a highly motivational, theory based course of instruction that mixes classroom discussion with practical field exercises. The cost of this workshop is $250.00. This cost includes lunch on each day and supper on Saturday night.
