The
Trainer's
Internship
and
Apprentice
Program
When researching what training program you should enter in order to become a professional dog trainer, it is easy to get taken into the sales pitch given by the 4-16 week wonder courses that claim when they are done with you, you will be a "certified" professional trainer.
I'm here to tell you that you might have paid for a certified piece of paper, but that paper is worth whatever money they charged you, nothing more. Learning to train dogs and be good at training dogs and people takes time commitment, and experience.
That is why here at Jonni Joyce Seminars, you will not see any quick fixes that create "certified professional" trainers. If you want to be a competent dog trainer and you are a hard worker and dedicated, then this program is for you.
The first step in the program is you must become a competent handler that passes performance evaluation criteria in your chosen field. Once that is accomplished and you are walking the walk, then you are ready to learn about many different breeds of dogs that you might be faced with in the training realm. Once you conquer the nuances of the different breeds, then you must learn about people. All different types of people that will come your way and have different ways of learning. The ability to communicate with the dog will come easy. The people always offer the challenge. You will attend K9 Unit Management and learn people skills as well as organizing training sessions. Then, you will be utilized as an apprentice instructor at my seminars to gain hands on experience in the training process. During this time, you will be assisting SAR dogs handlers in your area with the training of their canines. Once you have demonstrated the ability to train various breeds of canines along with their handlers, you will be awarded a certificate of training as a Canine Trainer. This certificate will be backed up with many months of training logs and experience and I absolutely guarantee that you will be competent to train working dogs.
This program is an extended learning program and takes commitment and dedication. Serious inquires only.
