Search and Rescue Dog Training 
       (Off Lead Trailing and Air Scent)

This block of instruction covers the basics of training a SAR dog from beginning to certification testing and can be customized to meet the individual needs of the requesting team. The philosophy of our instructor's is that a SAR dog should trail and air scent in order to provide us with a resource that can be utilized in any given scenario. Topics covered include scent discrimination, working in contamination, converting your tracker into a trailer, teaching the refind/alert behavior, motivational training techniques, building your foundation so your training is on solid footing, and realistic certification testing and standards. Problem solving and in-service training requirements are addressed.
